Apostolic Mentoring

Kingdom Sonship! / ¡Filación del Reino! ... English & Spanish

Rev. Charles G. Robinette Season 5 Episode 16

What does it truly mean to be a son of God rather than just a servant? In this powerful episode of Apostolic Mentoring, Pastor Powell from Texas delivers a kingdom-shaking message that challenges believers to step beyond servanthood into the fullness of divine sonship.

Drawing from Romans 8:19, Pastor Powell reveals how all creation eagerly awaits the manifestation of God's sons—believers who understand their true identity and authority. The distinction isn't merely semantic; it fundamentally transforms how we approach our relationship with God and our mission in the world.

Through biblical examples and personal insights, Pastor Powell unpacks three vital components of authentic sonship: submission, ownership, and favor. Submission isn't a restrictive concept but the very foundation that connects us to spiritual authority. Ownership moves us beyond waiting for instructions to recognizing needs and taking initiative. Favor encompasses the blessings and authority that come with our position as royal children.

One of the most striking revelations shared is how adopted children legally have stronger inheritance rights than natural-born children—a powerful picture of our grafted position in God's family. We aren't second-class citizens in the Kingdom but fully entitled heirs with direct access to the throne room.

This message arrives at a crucial moment for the global church. As Pastor Powell emphasizes, "Don't wait for the perfect time. The fields are already white and ready for harvest." The world doesn't belong to darkness but has been given to God's children as an inheritance—we simply need to rise up and take possession through prayer, fasting, and bold action.

Ready to stop living like a slave and start walking in the authority of sonship? This episode will equip you to lift your head high and embrace your true identity as a child of the King, positioned with purpose and empowered to transform your world.

We love to hear from our listeners! Thank you!

Speaker 2:

Atka.

Speaker 1:

Yes, that's right, in Switzerland. You added that, sister Alderette, that wasn't what I said. You did say Geneva. I said Geneva, but I didn't say Switzerland. You're like this is like the word of the Lord, don't add to or take away from. But I got to be with the Pentecostals of Geneva again, which is it just has such a special place in the heart of Sister Robinette and I and our children. We just it's been a part of our life for well decades, and to get to be back there and to lift the arms of Pastor Aka and his leadership team was just beyond a joy.

Speaker 1:

Matter of fact, I asked him to do something during the crusade.

Speaker 2:

That was a large task in a very poor nation. I asked him to preach on sacrifice, giving tithing to the Ethiopian people.

Speaker 1:

And oh my goodness, as this man of God began to preach to them and the spirit of giving got a hold of that nation.

Speaker 2:

they took the largest offering they'd taken in 23 years Y cuando el hermano empezó a predicar, el espíritu de Dios empezó a moverse y la congregación totalmente tomaron esta carga y empezaron a ofrecer todo lo que tenían.

Speaker 3:

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

I am humbled by those words. I'm not worthy of that.

Speaker 2:

All glory to God.

Speaker 3:

Amen. Thank you for welcoming me. I feel, the presence of God and I feel the camaraderie in this group already. I mean, I love Brother Robinette, love his family, love everything about this man. I want to read a scripture to us today.

Speaker 2:

Go ahead.

Speaker 3:

Romans, chapter 8, verse 19. The scripture says for the earnest expectation of the creature, waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

Speaker 2:

You said chapter 8. What is the?

Speaker 3:

verse Romans, chapter 8, verse 19.

Speaker 2:

And the scripture says in this way because the burning desire of creation is to await the manifestation of the children of God.

Speaker 3:

The scripture is saying that even creation itself is yearning, it is groaning for the manifestation of the sons of God.

Speaker 2:

The scripture tells us at this moment that even the earth nature groaning for the manifestation of the sons of God. What I want to talk to us today about is sonship.

Speaker 3:

Specifically sonship, as it applies in the kingdom of God.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

Let me build a foundation for this for you today.

Speaker 2:

Build a foundation for this for you today.

Speaker 3:

John, chapter 15, jesus talks about us becoming the sons of God. He says I will no longer call you servants. Galatians, chapter 4 and verse 7. The Apostle Paul said wherefore thou art no more a servant.

Speaker 2:

But a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. The Apostle John said in John, chapter 1, that he came to his own, but his own received him not but as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, that is our calling, saints of the living God.

Speaker 3:

That is our calling saints of the living God.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

To become sons of God.

Speaker 2:

De ser hijos de Dios.

Speaker 3:

We are not meant to be servants, not meant to be slaves not meant to be servants not meant to be slaves, but sons.

Speaker 2:

I want to highlight the differences, just for a few moments, between slavery and sonship.

Speaker 3:

Think with me, if you can.

Speaker 2:

Use your imagination and think of an ancient kingdom.

Speaker 3:

There's only one king in the kingdom. There's only one king in the kingdom, there's only one throne in a kingdom and one that sits on that throne. But the king has sons that operate within his kingdom. He also has servants we would call them slaves that all operate at his bidding. But the difference in slaves and sons is all about relationship.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

If we are not careful, we can't operate in the kingdom of God in this mentality of slavery in this mentality of slavery.

Speaker 2:

We see this come out even in our churches. It is a mentality of what do I have to do? What is the bare minimum I have to do? What can I get away with and still make heaven?

Speaker 3:

That is the mentality of slavery. I will do what he tells me and nothing more. I will do what the king commands, but nothing else.

Speaker 2:

I will do what the king commands, but nothing else.

Speaker 3:

The attitude, the mindset of a son is completely different.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

A son serves because of love and because of passion.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

A son serves, just like a servant or a slave serves.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

But it is from a completely different place.

Speaker 2:

Pero completamente en una perspectiva diferente.

Speaker 3:

A son has the ear of the king.

Speaker 2:

El hijo tiene el oído del rey.

Speaker 3:

A son gets to go in and out of the throne room at will.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

The son knows the plans and the thoughts of the king. The son knows the plans and the thoughts of the king.

Speaker 2:

Apostolic mentoring this is what God is calling his church to become.

Speaker 3:

His hands and his feet, his operators in the kingdom of God, that we would take up the will of God and we would take it on ourself and begin to operate on his and with his authority.

Speaker 2:

I want to talk about three different aspects of sonship today. You see, because sonship is really all about alignment. I've got to be aligned with my father.

Speaker 3:

You can be a son and be in rebellion.

Speaker 2:

Or you can be a son and be in complete alignment, as Jesus gave us the prime example in his prayer Matthew, chapter 6. He said our Father, which art in heaven? This is about alignment.

Speaker 3:

This makes him right out the gate my headship Positioning myself under. Him as a son.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

So three aspects that I would like to talk to us in sonship are submission and ownership and favor.

Speaker 2:

What was the third?

Speaker 3:

one Favor. A true son, a genuine son, will be submitted to the Father. A true son will be submitted to the Word of God to the word of. God will be submitted to the will of God and will be submitted to the man of God. Submission is a key component of sonship.

Speaker 2:

Submission is not a dirty word in the kingdom of God.

Speaker 3:

So many people hear the word submission and they cringe.

Speaker 2:

But submission is about power operating in the kingdom of God quiere decir poder que está siendo suelto en el reino de Dios.

Speaker 3:

Ephesians, chapter 5, tells us that we are to be submitted one to another.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

James, chapter 4 tells us that we are to be submitted to God, y Santiago 4 también nos habla que nosotros debemos de estar sometidos a Dios to be submitted to God. Hebrews chapter 13 tells us that we are to obey them that have rule over us.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

To submit ourselves to those that keep watch over our souls, those that give account for us. This is why, church, it is so important for us to have spiritual authority in our lives. I am a pastor.

Speaker 2:

I pastor a church in New Waverly, texas, but I also have a pastor and I am a big proponent of having a pastor in your life, no matter what. Having someone that can give an account for you will always benefit your own spiritual life. I've heard it said like this If you don't have someone that can tell you no, you don't really have a pastor.

Speaker 3:

You can call somebody pastor, but unless they can correct you and align you, they're not really your pastor.

Speaker 2:

A true, son is not really your pastor, pero a menos que ellos puedan hablarte y corregirte y alinearte, entonces no tienes pastor.

Speaker 3:

A true son is submitted to the authority of God.

Speaker 2:

Those that can say you're messing up, you're doing wrong you need to get back to the straight and narrow path. The Apostle Paul said follow me as I follow Christ.

Speaker 3:

Being in and operating under submission gives us spiritual authority. As sons, I feel like. As the church, we must often remind ourselves that we live in a kingdom.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

The kingdom of God has one king and one throne.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

But God operates in order and in decorum. I hate to be the bearer of bad news this morning, but we are not all equal in the kingdom.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

We are all equal in opportunity.

Speaker 2:

Todos somos iguales en la oportunidad.

Speaker 3:

But we are not all equal in position and authority.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

Let me give you an example of this.

Speaker 2:

Déjame darte un ejemplo de esto.

Speaker 3:

Jesus had 70 ministers that he sent out that operated under him.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

But he also had 12 disciples that he surrounded himself with.

Speaker 2:

Pero también tenía 12 discípulos que estaban alrededor de él, but he also had 12 disciples that he surrounded himself with. And of those 12, he had three that were his inner circle. This is just an example of the rank and file in the kingdom of God.

Speaker 3:

The story of the talents, where Jesus said the kingdom of heaven is like.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

The master brought his servants together, gave one servant five talents.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

He gave another two and he gave another one.

Speaker 2:

A otro le dio dos y al otro le dio un talento. Wait a minute, that's not fair Y tú piensas un momento eso. No, es fair. Why did I get one and he got five?

Speaker 3:

The kingdom of God is not the kingdom of man. The kingdom of man would make all equal.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

But the kingdom of God divides according to our several ability.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

I don't need to worry myself about who's in front of me or who's behind me.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

I must begin to operate as the centurion that Jesus met of great faith.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

He said, lord, I'm in authority of great faith. He said, lord, I'm in authority but I'm under authority. Submission and sonship is what links us to those ahead and behind in the kingdom of God.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

When we are operating in a perfect submission. Cuando nosotros estamos operando en una sumisión perfecta we are covered and protected because we are linked together.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

Now, rebellion is the perfect antithesis of submission.

Speaker 2:

Ahora, la rebelión es lo cual es completamente lo opuesto Rebellion is human nature of submission. Rebellion is human nature. Rebellion is I will not have anyone over me.

Speaker 3:

I will be my own king.

Speaker 2:

I will be my own king. I will be my own leader. We see this perfectly illustrated in the parable of the prodigal sons. One, the younger son, came to his father and said give me everything.

Speaker 3:

I don't want to serve in your household.

Speaker 2:

I don't want to serve in your home. The father gives him and, of course, we all know the story.

Speaker 3:

He takes and squanders all that he has living in rebellion.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

By the grace of God, he comes home, having come to his senses.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

He says I'm just going to be satisfied to be a slave in my father's household. But the father says, no, not a slave, a son. Go get a cloak, Go get the signet ring.

Speaker 2:

Go get a cloak.

Speaker 3:

Go get the signet ring.

Speaker 2:

Kill the fatted calf. My son has returned. But, we see the elder brother out in the field throwing a pity party, pero vemos al hermano mayor allá en el campo enojado, molesto.

Speaker 3:

He says to the father I've been faithful all these years.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

But I've never had a feast, I've never had a party.

Speaker 2:

Pero yo nunca me has hecho una comida, nunca he tenido una fiesta.

Speaker 3:

And notice what the father says to the eldest son.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

He says all that I have is thine.

Speaker 2:

Dice todo lo que tengo es tuyo.

Speaker 3:

It was already yours to begin with.

Speaker 2:

Ha sido tuyo siempre.

Speaker 3:

para empezar, Both sons in this story have been out of the will of God. This leads us directly into our next point, and that is ownership.

Speaker 2:

You see the eldest son.

Speaker 3:

You see, the eldest son was submitted to the father but never took ownership.

Speaker 2:

Yes, we must be submitted to the word of God, the will of God and the man of God, but we also must walk in ownership of the kingdom of God. Slaves wait to do what they're told to do, but a son sees the need and acts accordingly. A true son will always work harder than a servant or a slave. Because he has ownership in the kingdom of God. He has skin in the game.

Speaker 3:

I feel like the Lord wants that for his church globally wants that for his church globally.

Speaker 2:

So long church we have operated in submission under God, but now it is the time for us to step into ownership.

Speaker 3:

To walk in the authority of God.

Speaker 2:

To carry out.

Speaker 3:

His plan.

Speaker 2:

This is the will of God for this church in this last day that we begin to do the will of the. Father To be about our Father's business, to have the attitude of Caleb, give me this mountain.

Speaker 3:

I've already got the deed.

Speaker 2:

I've already got the promise. Now I've got to go and possess the land. I've got to be the boots on the ground. It's time church family to take ownership of our household to take ownership of our neighborhood to take ownership of our city. The scripture says the gates of hell shall not prevail.

Speaker 3:

But the gates are sure and steadfast when.

Speaker 2:

I'm not pushing against them. Sure and steadfast, when I'm not pushing against them. When I'm not doing the work, the gates are just fine. When I'm not taking authority and dominion, in my city the strong man has the rule. As sons of God, we walk in the authority of the Most High. The same promise applies to the kingdom of God today. Everywhere your foot treads, I will give you dominion. But I've got to start walking.

Speaker 3:

I've got to put action to the promise. I know what my father wants. Done he doesn't even have to tell me to do it. I'm submitted to the father. I'm walking in authority of the Father, so I can now go out and do the will of the Father. You know, too often we sit around waiting for it to fall in our lap too often we sit around waiting for it to fall in our lap.

Speaker 2:

We pray, oh Lord, open the door, but we've already been given the keys to the door.

Speaker 3:

So many times I feel like God is just saying open the door yourself.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

You've been given the keys of prayer and fasting, study and faith.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

Put your spiritual boots on and go and take your city. Have a prayer meeting, call a fast, operate in faith, go ye, therefore, into all the world. The world is ours, church, it is not the devil's, it is not culture or society. It is ours for the taking, but I have got to operate in ownership in order to take it. James said we've got to be doers of the word and not just hearers. If there's one thing I feel like the Lord is wanting to speak to his church globally, it's this.

Speaker 2:

Don't wait for the perfect time que el Señor le quiere hablar a su iglesia globalmente.

Speaker 3:

It's this. Don't wait for the perfect time.

Speaker 2:

No esperes el tiempo perfecto Go now. Ve ahora.

Speaker 3:

Go now.

Speaker 2:

Ve ahora. Don't think it's one month, three months or four months for now.

Speaker 3:

The fields are already white and ready for now. The fields are already white and ready for harvest. Walk in submission, walk in ownership. And that will bring you into the favor of God.

Speaker 2:

The last.

Speaker 3:

Thing that I want to talk about this morning is the favor of God. The last thing that I want to talk about this morning is the favor of God, the favor of sonship, the son of the king. Let me tell somebody gets to walk in the favor of the king let me tell somebody gets to walk in the favor of the king.

Speaker 3:

You don't have to act like a slave. You don't have to live like a slave. You can live like a son of the Most High God. It is time for the church to arise and step into the favor of God. Let me remind somebody this morning. We are blessed people. This is a blessed life. This is the best life that you could ever choose to live, and the Father loves to bless his children. In fact, jesus talks about this in Matthew, chapter 7. When he says, if you being good fathers, if your son asks a fish, will you give him a rock, and if you're evil and know how to give good gifts to your son, how much more?

Speaker 2:

How much more does your Father in Heaven want to give good gifts to His children that ask? How much more does your Father in Heaven want to give good gifts to His children that ask?

Speaker 3:

Psalms, chapter 5 says His favor surrounds us like a shield. Proverbs, chapter 10 says the blessings of the Lord maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

Deuteronomy, chapter 28.

Speaker 2:

En Deuteronomy, chapter 28.

Speaker 3:

In fact, let's turn there and read this.

Speaker 2:

Y vamos a ir allí y leer este capítulo.

Speaker 3:

Deuteronomy, chapter 28, says and it shall come to pass if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God to observe and to do all his commandments, which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all the nations of earth.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

And all these blessings shall come upon thee and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord, thy God. Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle and the increase of thy kind and the flocks of thy sheep.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.

Speaker 2:

Benditas serán tus canastas y tus arcenas de amasar.

Speaker 3:

Blessed shall thou be when thou comest in and when thou goest out.

Speaker 2:

Bendito serás en tu entrar y bendito en tu salir.

Speaker 3:

We are called and can operate in a favor everywhere we go. As the sons and daughters of God, as the children of the king, we are to operate in favor.

Speaker 2:

Some blessings are seen and some blessings are not seen. I'm a firm believer in blessings that we don't even know about.

Speaker 3:

The things that God keeps us from, the dangers and the pitfalls that we don't even know God has kept us out of.

Speaker 2:

God has kept us out of.

Speaker 3:

It is the will of God for the people of God to walk in his favor. It doesn't mean we don't have problems. It doesn't mean we don't have trials and tribulations.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 3:

But we can be an overcomer through it all.

Speaker 2:

Pero podemos ser victoriosos sobre todo ello.

Speaker 3:

Because we are a son of the Most High God.

Speaker 2:

Porque somos hijos de Dios Altísimo.

Speaker 3:

We are the adopted sons of God. You know one thing about adoption that is so great is that adopted sons inherit first. We are those that have been grafted in. I have two adopted children and one thing the lawyer told my wife and I when we adopted, he said that if you ever have any other children, he said I want you to know that your adopted children have a stronger legal claim to your inheritance.

Speaker 2:

He said even if you have natural born children, they will not have a stronger claim than your adopted son and daughter.

Speaker 3:

Church that is us. We cry Abba, Father, because of the spirit of adoption. He has chosen us. We don't have to live as second-rate citizens. We don't have to walk around thinking we're not worthy. God has placed each and every one of us in his kingdom To operate on his behalf. I just want to encourage someone right now Lift your head high, live as a son and a daughter of a king. You are a blessed generation. Step into sonship today, step into submission. Step into submission, step into ownership and walk in the favor of the Most High God. You are planted, you are positioned to reach your world. Now it's only up to us to go and take it. The scripture says the kingdom of God suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. I choose today to walk in sonship and I encourage each one of you to do the same.

Speaker 2:

Amen.

Speaker 3:

Why don't we just lift our hands and begin to thank God right now for his word? Lord, I pray that you would minister upon us today. Lord I pray that you would speak to each one of us this morning. Allow us, oh God, to operate in submission and ownership and favor, In the name of the Lord Jesus we pray. Thank you, righteous God, for all that you've done. Thank you, Lord, for your mercy. Amen, amen, amen, Amen, amen amen, amen, amen, aleluya.

Tú eres hijo e hija del Dios Altísimo.

Speaker 1:

Nosotros clamamos Abba, padre, we've been chosen by the King Hemos sido escogidos por el Rey.

Speaker 2:

I am so just. My heart is leaping inside right now.

Speaker 1:

I had never heard that statement that an adopted child has more rights than a natural born child.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 1:

Their legal standing has a higher place.

Speaker 2:

Que su parado legal tiene una capacidad más alta que los hijos naturales because we were chosen, selected, grafted into this body.

Speaker 1:

Friends, we are special to the king and we have a future that is powerful, filled with favor and ownership.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 1:

Speaker 2:

Speaker 1:

Speaker 2:

God is for you.

Speaker 1:

We got a great service tomorrow night here in Oslo and then we'll have a great service on Sunday, but I'm going to get to do some skiing with a local.
